About Tattvi Yoga: Our Story and Mission

Tattvi Yoga distills ancient wisdom into practical, everyday breath and movement

The Meaning of तत्त्वी

Tattvi (तत्त्वी) in Sanskrit means "one who embodies truth" or "one who has realized the essence." It represents the practitioner who has moved beyond mere physical postures to discover the deeper wisdom that yoga offers.

Our approach honors this ancient understanding while making it accessible to modern practitioners. We believe that yoga is not about perfect poses, but about returning to your authentic self—your essence.

Through mindful movement, conscious breathing, and community connection, we guide students toward this inner discovery. Every class is designed to help you peel away what doesn't serve you and reconnect with what does.

Meet Shantanu Khanwalkar

Shantanu's journey into yoga began not in a studio, but through necessity. Facing the pressures of corporate life in Mumbai, he discovered that traditional yoga practices offered not just physical relief, but a pathway to mental clarity and emotional balance.

After completing his 500-hour Teacher Training Certification in Rishikesh, Shantanu realized his calling was to make authentic yoga accessible to busy professionals and modern families. He founded Tattvi Yoga in Pune in 2018 with a simple mission: to create a space where ancient wisdom meets contemporary life.

His teaching style blends traditional Hatha and Ashtanga practices with modern understanding of anatomy and stress management. Students appreciate his patient guidance and ability to make complex concepts simple and applicable.

"Yoga taught me that strength isn't about holding the perfect pose—it's about showing up, breathing through challenges, and finding grace in the process. This is what I hope to share with every student."
